Week 2 of CAP-athon! Post Your Progress, Goals, Etc., Here!

Well, this begins another new week of posts for CAP-athon.

For some of you, the November writing is going great.

I'd like to thank everyone who has posted here during the past two weeks. You are an inspiration to me and to many others.

I'd like to encourage everyone--from those doing CAP-athon, NANO WRIMO, or anything else, to post your progress, goals, etc.

Let's keep each other motivated and writing.

Thank you participating in my very 1st CAP-athon. May there be many, many more!

  1. I've hit a slump, but I've been doing edits on the other end. I got slammed with allergies and it's messed me up. Hopefully back on track soon.

  2. ...'tis the season to be sneezin'....
Sorry to hear about the allergies. Hope that's all and not the beginning of a cold or worse.

Take care of yourself. Hopefully you'll feel better very soon.

  3. I'd be getting more done if my cat didn't keep jumping onto my lap...

I kept forgetting to post... sorry about that. On Saturday, I finished the revisions on the YA novel, and on Sunday I sent it back to the publisher that had given me the revise/resubmit on it. Yesterday, I did two chapters on the contemporary novella revise/resub, and started the revise/resub on my MFM novel.

Today I'm about to finish the contemporary novella (taking a short break right now before tackling the last chapter), and if I have time later I'm going to work a little on the MFM. Which I'm not looking forward to, because some sections of it are going to be complete rewrites to incorporate other characters' POVs.

  4. Well, I had a good turn around today. 4600 and I'm seeing the end of this one in sight. Should be around 60K, done, I think. 54.8 right now. Now me tired. :)

Good luck on the resubmit Karenna. Hope it's good news for you.

  5. Wow! You two ladies are keeping me inspired. But you're also making me look bad. LOL! Just kidding.

I haven't been as productive as I'd hoped...just a few thousand words here and there (although I did get inspired to write a 2nd book to follow the one that came out last year using one of the younger characters).

I've also been tinkering with the YA novel and I think I know what its missing. Sooooo....maybe not a lot in word counts but I'm slowly getting "un-stuck" from this rut I've been in for a few months.

Thank you ladies for posting and definitely keep up the great work.

  6. Thanks, Diana :) I finished the revisions on the novella yesterday, gave it a once-over this morning, and sent it back.

I also got an acceptance this morning on a full-length contemporary novel :D

Right now, I'm procrastinating on the MFM novel that I don't want to work on because I'm rewriting a scene from a different character's POV and I don't really want to...

  7. Congrats, Karenna on the acceptance of the novel! This is fantastic news.

    Okay. I've gotta get crackin'.

  8. Congrats on the acceptance Karenna!

Hugs Kimberly... Don't sweat it. Unstuck is just as important. And you're getting ideas. Those are important too. :) Word counts aren't the only success in this business.

  9. Let's see. Wednesday I did 4200. Yesterday I did 4K. I'm at 63 for the wip and _nearly_ done. So close.... Gah!

Today I have running around to do (Some sales I MUST hit without the kid. LOL)

I hope everyone is doing well.

  10. Yesterday, I forgot to check my before and after word count on a WIP I'm finishing up and getting ready to sub. Researching some new publishers took a bit of time yesterday.

Today I made 800 new words on the YA WIP. I'm pleased. At least I made some progress. Now I'm up to 70,000 words. And I like the romance that h as blossomed between my couple much better than the sterile relationship they shared previously.

  11. Great on the word count Kimberly! *nod* Researching houses is time consuming.
